Little G’s Soft Play & Cafe – Gloucester

Little G's Soft Play Centre & Cafe - Eastgate Street, Gloucester

Today we visited Little G's Soft Play in Gloucester - how fantastic it is that this place is now in new ownership. Decent sized soft play area, two toddler zones, plenty of tables for parents, very reasonably priced food and drinks and friendly staff where nothing was too much trouble. Really pleased and will definitely be going again soon.

Morrisons Cafe, Metz Way, Gloucester

Morrisons Cafe - Metz Way, Gloucester, GL1 4BP
Date Visited: 31/08/2018 by Dad Lee

To celebrate my son finishing Nursery and before he starts school next week, he wanted to go to Morrison’s Cafe!

I was initially impressed as for the price of an adult meal (over £4.50), I could get a free meal, fruit and drink for my son (worth £3).

At the till it turned out that 5:30 on a Friday is not the time to go! They had no gammon (for me), no beef burgers (for him), no bananas (as the free fruit)... meltdown just about avoided and I’m advised that most of the food goes at lunchtime (it’s a supermarket with stacked shelves!!)... so we turn to the sandwiches, just soft cheese available but advertising ham, jam etc etc. Back to the main menu and I settle for a fish & chips (£5.50) and my son a pizza & chips, no fruit please(!) and a milk (£3). Come to pay... that’ll be £9 please, I query and am told that because it’s evening it is £6 for the fish & chips but I get a ‘free’ soft drink. Confused, but nonetheless, I pay and we go to await our food.

The food, in fairness, was pretty good, but the kids pizza was served uncut and this caused some logistical issues but ultimately we managed. The staff had questionable attitudes like I was the first person to ever query these strange statements they were making and I certainly didn’t feel welcome.

All in all, I’d return, but I think I’ll go at lunch time to ensure our orders are available!
